The plugins are unlockable from the plugin itself and I have tested each to make sure they work both on Windows and Mac the best that I can. However, every computer is different.

Windows = Os 7, 10, 11, Vst3. Mac = Os 10.15 or higher, Au Components, Vst3, Intel, and M1,2,3 supported. Note that the plugins are only 64bit. I do not have 32bit versions of the plugins.

The original Vocal King is not part of the bundle along with a few others at the bottom.

Update 2: I have updated the plugin 12-20-23. I fixed a few issues where the compressors were causing distortion and the de esser was causing a lot of harshness.

Summary

  1. Vocal King 2 supports Windows//64bit/VST3. Mac/64bit/AU/VST3/Intel/M1 There may be issues with windows 7. I have not tested.
  2. The vocal King 2 like the original version sound shapes vocals to cut through the mix by removing mud and it gives the vocals presence.
  3. Give the Pres Comp knob enough gain where the vocal peaks just hit the red meter. Don’t press to hard or the vocals will sound smashed.
  4. Use the tighten knob to find the sweet spot for cutting though the mix. Add more bass if the vocals sound to thin.
  5. The air knob and de esser knob work together. If you have too sharp of S sounds then use the small de esser knob.
  6. Use the doubler to make the vocal sound like its recorded twice. The Lt and Rt knobs are for time offset.
  7. Use the Final Comp knob if the vocals needs to have a little more compression but use it sparingly.
  8. Hit the eq button and turn on the eq power switch to further sound shape the vocal to sit in the mix

This plugin doubles up the signal as a person is singing a 2nd time. Great for dubbing or just giving extra room size!

  4. Use the drive to dirty up the bass. use the AMT to apply the correct about of bass.
  5. Offset is how much delay you want the bass to have. This can really ruin the track if not applied correctly. Good to use offset with throw on.
  6. Throw gives the bass a wider sound. It can be used for special effects. Use the noise gate and just tip some of the incoming bass and then apply offset.

  9. Can be used on the master channel on a full mix. It works even better on single tracks. Mostly works on lower sub bass that is already clean. Hip-hop works the best but can be used on other types of music..

About

I have a friend who sent me a full mix that was made in 1996. He does not have any stems for it. It’s a great track but my ears wanted to bleed after hearing the sharp S sounds. The S sounds were excited over the top and it killed the mix. I tested many de esser’s on the track but they all affected the high hats and the rest of the drums along with the vocals. I quickly patched up and idea I felt would work and sure enough it did.

The Dual De eSser is smooth as butter. The reason I could not use an eq because it dulled the high end too much and he did not like how it sounded. Keeping the high end and taming it was 100% necessary for my friend. Mid side processing is important as well depending on the content. With the MID button selected I was able to only affect the center mono audio. Right were the vocals sat. Of course other instruments had a little placement in the middle but with the Dual De eSser only the vocal was affected. Tools if used right can make a persons heart content in audio mixing.

PowerTube is a workhorse and with such few knobs, you will have a great sounding instrument in no time. Turn up the gain until the meter drives into the green for light compression, yellow for medium, and red for heavy. For most sources you want to keep the meter in the green zone. Cut the amount of bass needed and add a tad bit of air and your sound will have that instant sparkle to it.

About

jTube is simple to use. Going from left the to the right, first give a strong gain. The meter will go up to 0 and then compression starts after the signal is past 0dB which then turns to orange. After giving the signal a good gain amount then use the bass knobs to dial in the exact bass as needed. The same goes with highs. The Dubler will double up your vocals. It’s like singing 2 times in the mic. The N-Gate is a noise gate. Be careful not to use too much or it will make the signal sound choppy. This works very good on drums though. The final out gain is perfect for level matching. Thats it.

Vocal King Update 2-1-18 for Windows and Mac

WINDOWS VERSION
If you already own the Vocal King, just copy the needed folder into the vst area where the other Vocal King Folder is located. Overwrite the folder. This will not overwrite the old version. The Updated Vocal King has been renamed to Vocal_King_V1_2. You will need to do a plugin scan inside your DAW again. There will now be two versions of the vocal king. The old and the new. ::

MAC VERSION
Over writting the old version may corrupt parameter from loading on the Vocal King in older projects. Please be warned.

Bug fixes

  • Both meters are more accurate. Compression should now start after 0 db.
  • Fix error loading reaper. Sometimes it would crash.
  • P Limit and F Limit. When switch was up, attack was set too high. Attack is set better.

Additional featues added

  • Tighten knob know has a wider parameter. When turned all the way to the left and low cut is all the way to the left, pres compression works like final compression. This will then work great for drums/bass or any other audio material.
  • Pres knob now can be lowered to -5 db.
  • Final knob now can be turned down to -25db
  • DB-Out knob now can be turned down to -30 db instead of -20 db
  • Low Cut knob now shows how many hertz are being cut instead of showing % if your daw shows changing parameters.

About

The pres compressor knob is the main work horse of the Vocal King. Turning the pres knob up turns up the gain and brings out the presence in the vocal along with giving it a smooth compression. Low cut, tighten, and bass works with the pres compressor to help take out the mud without making the vocal sound too thin. The crispy knob give highs some sparkle that many will find satisfying. Final compressor gives that extra compression to the vocal to make it sound thick. DB output turns the volume down. Use the power switch to quickly hear the difference between dry and processed. A, B, C, D, modes, I will let you find out what that means. The meters show gain reduction after signal is past 0db.
